Ameren Missouri does not run an EV-only rate. Its residential Time of Day rate prices summer on-peak hours, 2pm to 7pm on weekdays from June through September, at 31.5 cents per kWh, while all other hours, including evenings, overnights, and weekends, cost 7.87 cents per kWh. That spread makes overnight EV charging far cheaper than peak charging. The catch: the Time of Day pilot is closed to new enrollees. Existing customers keep the rate until an advanced meter is installed, and new customers instead choose among Ameren's newer rate options, including the Overnight Savers plan, which discounts energy used between 10pm and 6am, and the Smart Savers plan, which prices on-peak energy at nearly five times the off-peak rate for households with a smart meter.

The $50 residential rebate applies to the purchase of a qualified Level 2 home charger and is separate from the Time of Day rate, so a customer can take both. The business-side Charge Ahead program is a different track: it covers up to 50 percent of total project cost for Level 2 and DC fast charging at workplaces, multifamily buildings, and publicly accessible sites, rather than reimbursing a single home unit. Multifamily property owners apply through the business incentive, not the residential rebate.

Ameren Missouri is an investor-owned utility regulated by the Missouri Public Service Commission, and its rates and program terms are set through PSC tariff filings rather than a competitive retail market. That means the Time of Day rate windows and the Charge Ahead incentive caps can change when a new tariff is approved, so the exact per kilowatt-hour prices should be checked against the current Ameren Missouri tariff before relying on them.
