Evergy Missouri West, Inc.

Evergy Missouri West's primary EV-specific offering is the EV Only Plan, a separately metered time-of-use rate. Eligible residential customers install a second meter dedicated to vehicle charging; Evergy installs the meter at no cost, though the customer pays a licensed electrician to prepare the meter socket. On-peak hours run 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. A super off-peak window from midnight to 6 a.m. carries the lowest energy charge. Specific cents-per-kWh values for the Missouri West territory are set by the Missouri PSC and should be confirmed against the current tariff schedule before publishing; the utility's Nights and Weekends Saver plan (available without a second meter) carries a peak rate of approximately 33 cents per kWh in summer and 27 cents per kWh in winter, which provides a benchmark.

The residential EVSE rebate of up to $500 applies to the purchase and installation of a 240-volt Level 2 charger or outlet. Customers must own or lease an EV and must not be in a collections or active payment-agreement status. On the commercial side, the Transportation Electrification Pilot Program offers $2,500 per Level 2 port or $20,000 per DC fast charger for public, workplace, fleet, and multifamily sites; the program runs through at least March 31, 2027, with a $2.5 million total budget. Residential and commercial programs are separate applications with no enrollment linkage between them. Evergy Missouri West is a vertically integrated IOU in a cost-of-service regulated state; all rates and new programs require Missouri PSC approval before taking effect. The utility was created in June 2018 when Evergy, Inc. was formed from the merger of Great Plains Energy (parent of Kansas City Power and Light) and Westar Energy; Evergy Missouri West holds the non-metropolitan western Missouri service territories formerly operated as part of Kansas City Power and Light's Missouri franchise. Customers should verify that a given program applies to their specific territory, as Evergy also operates the Missouri Metro and Kansas territories whose program details and rates differ from Missouri West.
