Indiana Michigan Power now runs two different kinds of residential EV programs, one for each state in its territory. Michigan customers can enroll in a time-of-use rate that discounts off-peak charging 50%, from 16.424 cents to 8.424 cents per kWh, during the 11pm-to-6am window, and the program requires a separate sub-meter to isolate EV charging consumption. Indiana no longer has a discounted TOU rate for residential EV charging: the former RS-PEV pilot rider has been replaced by Charge Sync Rewards, a bill-credit program that connects an EV or Level 2 charger through WeaveGrid and pays a bill credit for charging between 11pm and 6am. Customers still enrolled in the older Indiana tariff can move to the new program at no cost.

Michigan's TOU enrollment comes with a $500 rebate toward a Level 2 charger purchase or the pre-wiring needed to support one. Indiana's Charge Sync Rewards program does not include an equipment rebate; the $500 Indiana residential charger rebate that was tied to the former TOU pilot is no longer offered. Indiana commercial and multifamily customers can still get charging-equipment rebates: $1,700 per port for Level 2 stations at workplaces, fleets, or multifamily properties, $3,000 per port for Level 2 stations in Justice40 or IRS Section 30C qualifying areas, and $8,100 per port for public DC fast chargers in qualifying areas. Small commercial customers in Indiana averaging under 4,500 kWh per month can get a $500 rebate paired with a small commercial off-peak rate that discounts up to 35%.

Indiana Michigan Power operates as an investor-owned utility regulated by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission for its Indiana operations and by the Michigan Public Service Commission for its Michigan operations, so the two states differ in program design and regulatory history. Indiana's EV program has moved from a discounted TOU rate to Charge Sync Rewards, a WeaveGrid-enabled managed charging program, while Michigan customers remain on a rate-based TOU discount under a separate MPSC-approved tariff. The MPSC has required I&M to file a transportation electrification plan, which may change the Michigan program shape in the near term.
