Evergy Kansas South customers have the same EV options as Evergy Kansas Central customers. Kansas South does business as Evergy Kansas Central, and the Kansas Corporation Commission tariffs for the time-of-use rate, the charger rebates and the managed charging pilot are issued jointly by both companies for the Evergy Kansas Central rate area. Evergy's rebate terms name the Evergy Kansas Central and Evergy Kansas Metro territories, and under the jointly issued tariff Kansas South customers fall inside the Evergy Kansas Central territory.

The optional Nights and Weekends time-of-use rate sets peak prices from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, has no peak period on weekends or holidays, and adds a super off-peak period from midnight to 6 a.m. every day. Under the tariff effective October 1, 2025, the summer energy charge is about 26.2 cents per kWh on-peak, 7.5 cents off-peak and 3.7 cents super off-peak, before riders and adjustments. Customers can opt out at any time but cannot return for 12 months, and homes with rooftop solar should confirm eligibility with Evergy, because the tariff excludes customers with parallel generation yet also lists net-metered rate codes.

The residential charger rebate pays $250 toward a qualifying Level 2 outlet or hardwired charger installed by a certified electrician, or $500 for customers enrolled in a time-of-use or EV rate. Evergy can take back $250 if the customer leaves that rate within a year, and rebates must be claimed within six months of installation or by March 14, 2027. Businesses can get $2,500 per Level 2 port and $20,000 per DC fast charger, with per-site caps from $25,000 to $65,000, on the same deadline. The EV Charging Rewards pilot pays $50 at enrollment plus $10 a month for letting Evergy schedule overnight charging; it runs through December 31, 2028 and is capped at 2,000 participants. Because the rebates are first-come, first-served, confirm availability with Evergy before you install.
